For children crawling through age 8 who cannot swim and float independently. This class will teach your child to swim and float even in clothes and shoes.

“ANY Level” slots are for students 4 years old and up who can swim at least 5 feet independently (face in water, no floaties) and float on back.

FAQ

  • Payment is due and processed on the 16th before classes start.
  • PhD Swim School reserves the right to refuse services and/or deactivate your Family Portal Account if payment is not received.
  • Tuition and registration fees are non-refundable after the 1st of the month prior to your upcoming session. 
  • We do not refund for missed classes for any reason.
  • Make-up lessons are not possible due to the high demand for our classes.
  • This includes all student absences including vacations, illnesses, recitals, forgetting to come, etc. Students also may not swap with other absent students in order to maintain teacher consistency.
  • The 8th week of the session will be used to schedule makeups for all affected students if lessons are canceled due to inclement weather, pool closing, or instructor emergency. Refunds will not be issued.

Coach Katie Blalock

SENIOR INSTRUCTOR, DIRECTOR OF BUSINESS OPERATIONS

Katie B. is a former sprint triathlete and triathlete coach. She also has experience teaching fearful adult beginners how to swim. Katie is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. She also has prior accounting and business administration experience with Raleigh Brewing Company and Charles & Colvard.

Katie has two boys herself and loves working with young children. She is a gifted teacher with special strengths in class organization, maintaining structure in a fun environment, and establishing a relationship of trust with her students. Katie has undergone over fifty hours of intense in-water and academic training to learn our method. She primarily manages all day-to-day business activities and is also an instructor. She currently teaches Survival, Kicks & Tricks, and, FUNdations.
